Wildflower Restaurant Perth: MAKURU 5 course Tasting Menu

Wildflower Restaurant Perth, located at Perth CBD Catheral State Building rooftop (Level 4), with seating 80 guests in the main dining room and a further 30 in the bar and outside terrace, Wildflower serves contemporary dishes revolving around the indigenous ethos of six seasons with farmer and forager-driven menus (more details on Wildflower Restaurant Website).

I’m sure most of you fine dining lovers have heard of Amuse Restaurant located in East Perth. When I heard the news of them closing down the restaurant (as they want to focus more on family), I was so sad that I had to say goodbye to Perth’s best fine dining restaurant.

A while after Amuse Restaurant’s closure, Wildflower started to pop up on social media and news. They have become Perth’s next fine dining rising star.

Wildflower Restaurant Perth Review

Wildflower Restaurant brings a whole new six-season fine dining concept to Perth. Each season has different chef to take over and create a masterpiece on the plate. They named their menu as per indigenous Noongar calender, which I find quite meaningful.

NOONGAR SIX SEASONS:

DJERAN (APRIL – MAY)
MAKURU (JUNE – JULY) – This Post
DJILBA (AUGUST – SEPTEMBER)
KAMBARANG (OCTOBER – NOVEMBER)
BIRAK (DECEMBER – JANUARY)

Wildflower Restaurant Perth – Makuru Menu
The Verdict:

Our favourite dish of the night was the WOOD GRILLED ARKADY LAMB. The lamb is ridiculously tender and buttery smooth, it melts in your mouth like cotton candy and brings you to meat heaven. The peppermint tree cream compliments with the lamb so well, it enhances the wood grill and natural lamb flavor.

The only dish that we feel is not up to the standard of Wildflower Restaurant is the SLOW COOKED DOODLAKINE PORK. We love the sweet potato and everything else on this dish, except the pork. Unfortunately, the slow cooked pork was slightly on the dry side.

Other dishes are simply amazing but not unforgettable. The wine pairing was not bad, but out of 5 wines we had, our favourite was the dessert wine (apologize I didn’t get to record the name of the wines).

If you are there for drinks, I highly recommend you guys to try their cocktail.

We will definitely come back for the next season menu, can’t wait to Wildflower Restaurant Perth next creation. I would still say my favorite fine dining is Amuse Restaurant, but since Wildflower is new in Perth, they do deserve a second chance.
