Here we are again at Wildflower Restaurant in Perth. This time we tried the Wildflower Perth KAMBARANG 5 Course Tasting Menu for my birthday! YAY. This restaurant is by far my favourite Fine Dining Restaurant in Perth, after the closed down of Amuse Restaurant in East Perth. “Kambarang – Season of Birth. This season marks the end of the rain, fewer cold fronts and warmer temperatures. The landscape is carpeted with a rainbow of wildflowers, including the vibrant flowering of the Kangaroo Paw. RAW GERALDTON KINGFISH, preserved daikon, fermented cucumber, frozen apple and fennel juice, Geraldton wax

SHARK BAY BLUE SWIMMER CRAB, avocado, preserved kohlrabi, sea blight, macadamia, finger lime

BERKSHIRE PORK, sweet white onion, sour quandong and mustard

WOOD GRILLED BEEF, Jerusalem artichoke, salt bush, dripping emulsion, red wine syrup

SHEEP’S YOGHURT PUDDING, candied outback lime, raspberry & bottle brush

FROZEN KENSINGTON PRIDE MANGO, macadamia sago, Geraldton wax sherbet & and crisp meringue

Wildflower Perth Kambarang Menu
The Verdict:

This season’s dishes are better than our first visit, the MAKURU season. The Kambarang Menu started very strong with the RAW GERALDTON KINGFISH. It was such a refreshing and unforgettable dish of all. It’s so cooling and refreshing but not freezing cold, just like the very end of winter, with a bit of spring dancing in the mouth once you chew everything together (trying my best to describe the taste in a more imaginative way LOL).

Next, the SHARK BAY BLUE SWIMMER CRAB, another refreshing yet very ocean sweet dish. The sweetness is simply from the crab itself, super fresh as if I was swimming in the ocean like a mermaid. A hidden gem underneath the crab is some avocado cream, which brings this dish to another level.

Other dishes (Pork and Beef) was divine, but they weren’t as “surprising and unforgettable” as the two starting dishes.

In this menu, they didn’t change the dessert (same as the last season we had). Luckily, we managed to change our desserts to two other desserts they have on their dessert menu. My favourite was the Sheep Yogurt while my partner’s favourite was the Kensington Mango. But there isn’t a lot of memorable moments with the desserts.

Lastly, instead of wine pairing, we have gotten two different cocktails as our drinks for this meal. The WILDFLOWER MARTINI was way too strong for us to handle. It has a very nice fragrance but the aftertaste super strong, almost feel like a pure liquor. The LADY OLIDA, on the other hand, was sweet but very mild in alcohol taste. But it has a very unique taste to it.
