Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil Review + 5 DIY Essential Oil

My skin suffers from dryness (like dry flaky skin) every winter. I used to believe that my skin care routine is good enough to tackle the harsh cold weather. But I was wrong. A month ago, I started to incorporate essential oil – Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil into my skin care routine and I was surprised with the outcome.

If you have not included any essential or face oil in your skin care routine, you and your skin are missing out. It took me so long to include a face oil into my skin care and I regretted I did not start earlier. I wasn’t educated enough to understand that essential oils will not clog my pore or gives me oily skin.

While there are so many different kinds of essential oils out there that target different skin problems, Jurlique has come up with a series of Botanical Face Oils (basically, a mixed of different essential oils in one bottle) to target a specific skin concern.

You can read everything you need to know about Jurlique Pure, Powerful Botanical Face Oils on their website here. But in this post, I will share with you how I incorporate my Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil into my daily skincare routine.

Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil

  1. The standard – Use it as it is.

I normally do this when I’m planning to laze at home all day. After cleansing in the morning, I gently pat two drops of the face oils into my skin right after toner.

  1. Daily Hydration Boost – Mix 2 drops with my day and night cream/moisturiser.

Whenever I’m heading out in the morning, I make sure to put on moisturiser and sunscreen. To protect my skin from that harsh cold wind, I mix 2 drops of the face oil with my moisturiser and apply on my face gently before the sunscreen. Similarly, doing the same at night before bed, without the sunscreen of course.

  1. Dewy, Flawless Makeup – Mix 2 drops with my foundation.

While I don’t do this on all my makeup, occasionally I will mix 2 drops of face oil into my foundation whenever I feel it needs a bit of hydration boost. This easily creates a dewy glowing skin without messing up my makeup. It’s a quick and effective way to moisturize your skin and prevent cakey makeup!

  1. Luxurious Body Cream – Mix a few drops with my body lotion/cream.

This maybe a little extravagant, but I was told too MANY TIMES to not only take care of my face. I have been diligently applying body lotion every night recently because I was told my face looks almost 10 years younger than my body (skin). So once a week I will mix the botanical oil with my lotion and apply all over my legs and arms to give them a bit of hydration boost.

This face oil has totally changed my winter skincare game. Not only this face oil absorbs quickly into the skin, it does not leave any sticky or oily residue. I don’t recommend applying more than 4 drops on your skin. I’ve tried that and it’s too much for my skin. For this face oil, less is more. Just 2 drops, twice a day (day and night). Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil is selling at the counter for A$69. I have been using it for a month and there’s still a lot more to go. I believe by using just 2 drops twice a day, you might be able to last at least 4 – 6 months, which is quite reasonable at the price of $69.

Finally, here’s my rating for this product:

OH BY THE WAY.
